Here’s an email from a couple months ago that I’ve been meaning to respond to:
I’m an instruction and curriculum coordinator in a large suburban district and I direct two dozen coaches. I was also a coach for many years. I’m looking for readings that I can give my new coaches–both from the field of coaching and beyond. I am also looking for new material that would push my thinking. I see that you have a book coming out soon, and it looks wonderful, but what else can I give my coaches to read? What do you think coaches should read? Thank you.
An aspect of my work that I love is that I get to read so much. I find this kind of learning indispensable to being an effective coach, facilitating whole school transformation, understanding the complex dynamics of large organizations, and managing my own emotional response to my work.
