Here’s what it takes to create thriving teams
January 15, 2024
I spent last week in Hawai’i with my team at our beginning of the year retreat. By all measures, it was a great success. I feel confident in speaking for everyone when I say that we love spending time together. There’s always laughter and genuine connection and new learnings about each other. I truly love these people.
Our retreat was also a big success because we lived the content of our workshops - of The Art of Coaching Teams and Artful Design and Facilitation. It’s the combination of skills that we teach in these workshops that creates thriving teams. It’s not rocket science, it’s not magic. Leading a thriving team is a skillset that anyone can learn.
I’ve written every single one of my books for myself–for the me I was when I started coaching, when I started facilitating PD, when I started leading teams. Over and over, I’ve thought, If I had only known then what I know now. But what I needed to know, many coaches and leaders need to know. I don’t want to say I have every single answer, but I’ve got a lot of them. There’s really no reason why so many teams should be languishing or struggling or unable to get anything done.
What’s stopping you from building your facilitation and leadership skills?
What’s holding you back from diving deeper into your learning?
(Yes, this is me being direct and perhaps even “confrontational” with you).
